Welcome to the Cox Orthotics, Inc. web site. We are a specialized prescription Foot Orthotic laboratory. We lead the competition in quality, support and on-time delivery. Our Mission Cox Orthotics, Inc. strives to provide high quality custom Foot Orthotics and related services to Physicians at very competitive prices. We endeavor to advance our technical expertise and innovative manufacturing processes. We exert great effort to assure that what we do will ultimately improve the quality of life for the patients who use our orthotics.
In 2005 we implemented the Sharp Shape Automated Orthotic Manufacturing System (AOMS). The negative foot impressions are digitally scanned using a proprietary 3D Laser Scanner. After the biomechanical corrections are made in the CAD program, the positives are milled out of MDF (medium density fiberboard) by the CNC milling machine. The positives are then used as the "mold" or "cast" on which the foot orthotic shell material is vacuum thermoformed. This system, developed by Alex Shang, Ph.D., has improved the functionality and quality of our orthotics and reduces the turnaround time. In response to the demand for high quality custom foot orthotics delivered to physicians with a quick turn-around time and at reasonable prices, Cox Orthotics, Inc. started operating in 2000. The laboratory was started and is managed by Dave Cox, B.A. and Ken Cox, D.P.M. Ken practiced Podiatry in the Seattle area for 23 years. We offer five basic orthotic designs and can provide almost any modification or special addition requested. We use a wide variety of high quality thermoplastic and composite materials to vacuum form the orthotics. Our lab is a member of the Prescription Foot Orthotic Laboratory Association.
